Lillie Shockney, a registered nurse well known in the cancer field through her countless contributions and awards around improving the breast cancer patient experience. She is a University Distinguished Service Professor of Breast Cancer at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, after serving as the Administrative Director at the Breast Center and Director of the Cancer Survivorship Programs. She is the co-creator of Work Stride: Managing Cancer at Work, an employee benefit program offered across the US to businesses and corporations, the co-founder of the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+), and the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Oncology Navigation & Survivorship. In a touching video on the Johns Hopkins website, she shares why she does what she does – having been diagnosed twice with breast cancer herself, she knew her calling was to specialize in serving other breast cancer patients.
